Civilisation
A cell tower on a hill nearby my hometown integrates into the landscape almost like a tree.
This project is about the (often negative) impact of mankind on nature.
I’d like to show both the beauty and the ugliness of human artefacts in our surroundings.
Bunker
My hometown is literally built on an ordnance factory from World War II.
Thus, I stumble over artefacts from that time pretty much everywhere around here. In fact, I even live in a former washhouse from 1940 - now fortunately well renovated and upgraded.
Therefore I decided to document these witnesses of destruction in a small photo series.
Power Lines
Shooting landscapes without having at least one power line or power pole in the picture is quite difficult anyway.
This is why I took the chance and made them the actual subject of the photos.
Focus on Music
It started with a seemingly out-of-focus picture more than ten years ago.
I wanted to focus on the singer of the band, who was partly covered by the bass player. But my camera decided that the head of the electric base was more important.
After a while, I realised I actually liked the picture, and after another while I loved it, so I started to deliberately shoot musicians out-of-focus:
The focus is on the music.
